NEWINGTON–On Tuesday, Newington Police arrested a man who they believe is connected to 12 residential burglaries that occurred in January 2015.

On January 18, Windsor Police arrested James Epps while he was burglarizing a storage unit. Earlier that day, a Newington resident had reported that someone had broken into storage units at the Stonegate and Colonial Manor apartment complexes on Willard Avenue, and the description provided matched that of James Epps.

On that day, Windsor Police charged Epps, 47, of Hartford, with burglary in the third degree, larceny in the fourth degree, criminal mischief, possession of burglar’s tools and conspiracy to commit larceny in the fourth degree.

On Wednesday, new charges were added connected to burglaries the Newington burglaries.

Newington Police charged Epps with 11 counts of burglary in the third degree, six counts of criminal mischief in the third degree, four counts of larceny in the sixth degree and one count of larceny in the sixth degree.

He is being held on a $60,000 bond.
