10-4 east hartford house fire

EAST HARTFORD — An early morning blaze displaced nine people living in a two-family home on Sunday.

Police say they received reports of flames igniting at 347 Tolland Street in East Hartford shortly after 3am.

Response units were able to knock down the fire quickly. Damage was confined primarily to the attic, but a few spots on the second floor were also impacted by the fire and resulting smoke.

Investigators later determined that problems with faulty wiring in the attic led to the blaze.

All nine residents escaped without injury. The scene was cleared after a few hours. Check back for updates as new details come in to the Fox CT newsroom.
