Madison mom finds rebirth, renewal and #365DaysOfJoy

"#365DaysOfJoy is a movement, a way of living…something to aspire to," explains creator Rachel Salvo, a 42-year-old mom-of-two in Madison.FirstHalfMarathon

But this healthy outlook didn't come easy. Salvo has struggled to find happiness. In 2001, she followed the traditional route. She got married, immediately had two babies and left her career in corporate sales to be a stay-at-home mom.

"I went through a major depression," she says candidly.

Wedding2Four years ago — when Salvo was 80 pounds overweight and facing serious financial problems — she and her husband, Dennis, decided to divorce.
