BRIDGEPORT -- Thursday afternoon, police announced they found a car used in an attempted abduction of a teenage girl. Police say they have identified a suspect in the case.

On Monday around 7:15 a.m., police responded to reports of an attempted abduction at the corner of Boston Avenue and Palisade Avenue. Police said the 17-year-old abduction victim wasn’t hurt.

The victim told police she was walking to school when a gray Toyota Yaris approached her and lured her into the car.

Once in the car, the driver assaulted her, so she jumped out of the moving car while it was driving west on Boston Avenue. The Yaris made a u-turn at Dover Street and drove east, toward Stratford, according to police.

The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic woman in her 40s who had freckles and black hair, worn in a ponytail. The Yaris had a missing bumper, with the Styrofoam visible.
