HARTFORD--It's domestic violence awareness month, and the Interval House wants to remind people how dire the situation is.

Since 2000, there have been 210 people killed by a spouse or partner in Connecticut alone--or an average of 17 to 24 people per year.

Cecile Enrico, the executive director of Hartford's Interval House, joined Fox CT on Thursday to discuss the need for awareness. She was live from an awareness event at State Attorney General George Jepsen's house.

Interval House helps thousands of Hartford-area residents annually.
