HARTFORD -- New Britain resident Jonas Hampton won the 2015 Eversource Hartford Marathon on Saturday with a time of 2:15:58 .

The University of Hartford graduate beat last year's winner Matt Pelletier by just two minutes.

Erica Jesseman won her third straight women’s marathon in Hartford.

Approximately 14,000 runners participated in the event, which included the marathon, half marathon, 5K, team relay and kids race events.

2:17:58 Matt Pelletier, 36, Oneco, CT
2:19:37 Tyler Andrews, 25, Concord, MA
2:21:53 Jerry Faulkner, 34, Sunnyside, NY
2:25:27 Everett Hackett, 25, West Hartford, CT

Top five women’s marathon winners were:
2:41:41 Erica Jesseman, 26, Scarborough, ME
2:45:45 Alexandra Niles, 32, Montclair, NJ
2:47:55 Jen Puzey, 31, Flagstaff, AZ
2:49:50 Katherine Chute, 25, Ashland, MA
2:50:01 Kasie Enman, 36, Huntington, VT

With a time of 1:05:32, Harbert Okuti, of New Paltz, NY, won his second straight Eversource Hartford Half Marathon. Dan Vassallo, of Peabody, MA, came in second place in the 13.1 mile race with a time of 1:07:13. With a time of 1:07:25, Eric MacKnight, of Ballston Lake, NY, came in third place.

In her first race in Hartford, Sarah Hutchings, of Boulder, CO, won the women’s field of the half marathon with a time of 1:17:09. Marie Davenport, of Guilford, CT, came in second place with a time of 1:18:09. Coming in third place with a time of 1:19:08 was Marisa Cummings, of New York, NY.

Another Connecticut runner took first place in a fast 5K race. Brian Biekert, of North Stonington, won with a time of 15:01. Coming in second place with a time of 15:13 was David Chorney of Boston. With a time of 15:20, Chris Fitzsimons, of Hamden, CT, took third place.

In the women’s 5K race, Maggie Callahan, of Boulder, CO, won with a time of 17:26. Brittany Burns, of Watertown, NY, came in second place with a time of 17:56. Bristol, CT, runner Brittany Heninger came in third place in 18:00.
