EAST HAVEN — Police arrested a North Haven man for allegedly robbing both a Subway and Dunkin’ Donuts in East Haven yesterday evening.

Officers responded to a Dunkin’ Donuts at 96 East Frontage for an armed robbery. Upon arrival, police realized it was the same person who robbed a Subway restaurant at 199 Main Street earlier. In both robberies the suspect implied he was armed, but did not show a weapon.

About an hour after the Dunkin’ Donuts incident, an officer recognized the suspect in a car near Ferry Street and Chatham Street in East Haven.

Fourty-four year old James Dietrichsen  was arrested and charged with first degree robbery and second degree larceny for the Subway incident. He was also charged with first degree robbery, second degree larceny, misuse of plates, operating with insurance, operating with a suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle for the Dunkin’ Donuts robbery.
