Danielson man arrested while getting rid of drugs in bathroom in sports bar: Police

DANIELSON — Police arrested a man on narcotics charges after they said they found him trying to get rid of the drugs in a bathroom of a sports bar.

State Police were attempting to serve an arrest warrant for Dwayne Shannon, 31, of Danielson, Tuesday evening at The Sports Page Bar in Killingly.

Police said they found Shannon in the bathroom attempting to get rid of a large quantity of crack cocaine and heroin in the sink. He was found with almost $1,000 in cash as well, police said.

Police confiscated about 54 bags of heroin and about 4.5 ounces of crack cocaine that were pre-packaged for sale. Authorities said the estimated street value of the crack cocaine and heroin is approximately $10,000. Shannon was charged with possession of narcotics and possession with intent to sell. He was held on $25,000 and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
