Around 2:45 p.m. on October 20, Bridgeport Police responded to City View Avenue, near the intersection with Marigold Avenue, for reports of the 2-year-old boy alone.

Police searched a nearby home and found Rondell Williams, 33, lying unresponsive on the floor, but as police approached him he jumped up and began movign around.

The home was dirty and disorganized.

The child was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but wasn’t injured. Williams was uncooperative, and was noticeably slurring his words. He seemed to be under the influence of narcotics, police say.

Williams was arrested, and while being taken to the police station was belligerent and threatened officers.

DCF was notified.

Williams was charged with risk of injury, interfering with police and threatening.
