SIMSBURY – Distribution of marijuana-laced brownies delayed a Simsbury High School field trip Friday.
Eleventh-grade English Language Arts students were delayed due to the disciplinary matter while they were en route to Salem, Massachusetts for a field trip, according to authorities.
Officials said students involved in the sale and distribution of marijuana-laced brownies to a select group of students have been identified.
Simsbury police were consulted, and the parents of the students involved in the event were contacted.
The Simsbury High School Resource Officer and other administrators were onsite to assist with the investigation.
“This incident is under investigation and I have no further information at this time,” said Superintendent Matt Curtis in a statement.
