HARTFORD — Census data shows more people are moving out of Connecticut than are moving in. That’s been the case for at least the past five years.

The Hartford Courant reports more than 82,000 people moved to Connecticut from other states in 2014, but more than 96,000 Connecticut residents moved out, according to new U.S. Census Bureau estimates. That’s a net loss of about .37% of the population.

The data also shows where these former Connecticut residents are heading: 14,649 moved to New York, 13,287 moved to Massachusetts, and 12,944 moved to Florida. More than 10,000 others left for California and North Carolina.
