STORRS–UConn basketball player Breanna Stewart has been selected to The Associated Press preseason All-America team for the third straight year, joining an elite group.

Connecticut’s Moriah Jefferson, South Carolina’s Tiffany Mitchell, Baylor’s Nina Davis and Ohio State’s Kelsey Mitchell round out the team released Tuesday.

Stewart, who has helped Connecticut win three consecutive national championships, is the seventh player to be a three-time All-American. She joins Chamique Holdsclaw and Tamika Catchings of Tennessee, Alana Beard of Duke, Maya Moore of UConn, Courtney Paris of Oklahoma and Brittney Griner of Baylor.

Stewart is a unanimous choice for the second consecutive season, receiving all 32 votes from the national media panel. She’s only the fourth player to be chosen as a unanimous pick twice. Beard, Moore and Griner are the other three.
