WATERBURY–A celebration was held on Tuesday night to honor a very important educator.
Jahana Hayes was named teacher of the year just a few weeks ago, and tonight officials and other finalists gathered at the Bushnell Performing Arts Center to celebrate.
Hayes is praised for keeping students engaged in the classroom and the community. She’s taught for 13 years, 11 of which have been spent at John F. Kennedy High School in Waterbury.
