HARTFORD — On Sunday, all eyes will be on the Giants, specifically their defense, which is ranked worst in the NFL.

Can they slow down Tom Brady and the undefeated Patriots? Again?

It would appear to be a mismatch but so did Super Bowl XLII when the Giants defeated the undefeated Patriots by the score of 17-14, and when the Patriots were favored by 12 points going into that game. This Sunday, they are favored by 7.5 points.

An offensive juggernaut against a last-ranked defense. Sound familiar?

Drew Brees threw for 505 yards and seven touchdowns in New Orleans’ 52-49 win over New York earlier this season.

Brady comes into the game leading the league in touchdown passes, interceptions and quarterback rating . And with a big chip on his shoulder over deflategate.

The Giants beat Brady in the Super Bowl twice. In Super Bowl XLVI the Giants set a new record for the lowest regular season record (9–7) by a Super Bowl champion and the Patriots entered the game with an AFC-best 13–3 regular season record.

This year the Patriots have scored at least one point in 31 consecutive quarters, which is tied for the longest streak in NFL history.
