Friday will mark one year since Melissa Millan, 54, a Mass Mutual Executive and mother of two, went for an evening jog on the side of Iron Horse Boulevard, in the same area that police are now searching, and was fatally stabbed in the chest.

Multiple police cruisers were on the scene all day, and expect to be out again on Tuesday and possibly even Wednesday and Thursday. A tent was up in the parking lot of a nearby performing arts center. The FBI is assisting in the investigation, using metal detectors along the roadway.

But what they're looking for, Simsbury police would not say.

Police say the work going on right now is a "normal progression of an investigation" and they had nothing new to add. Police said Simsbury is a safe community and the FBI would be working with local authorities over the next few days.

The first selectwoman said Millan's death was "a shock to the entire community."

A $40,000 reward remains for information leading to an arrest.
