HAMDEN--Police are investigating an apparent double homicide at the Broadmoor Apartment Complex on Mix Avenue in Hamden.
Police Chief Thomas Wydra says the department received a call around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon from a concerned resident about a car parked and running in the parking lot.
"Fire personnel and police personnel arrived on the scene [and] almost immediately determined that the occupants of the vehicle were deceased," said Chief Wydra.
Police say the victims are two adult black males, but their identities have not been released. They appear to have been shot dead inside the car and were there for hours before being discovered.
Police say witnesses interviewed on Tuesday reported hearing either gunshots or fireworks on Monday night but did not report them.
"If you see something, if you hear something, then you say something," said Chief Wydra. "Please, I'm begging the public at large to report crime to us."
Chief Wydra says he believes this was an isolated incident. The department is hoping to identify the victims on Wednesday.
