WINDHAM–Police have made an arrest after a shooting in Windham earlier this month.

On November 10, State Police troopers responded to reports of a drive-by shooting on Windham Center Road.

Police later said it was an accidental shooting in which Wesley Rodriguez, 17, shot himself, though they said they were still investigating to see if there was a criminal aspect. Rodriguez was in critical condition after the shooting.

However, on Tuesday, police announced the arrest of Jeremy McGeowan, 19, of Windham, in relation to the shooting. He was arrested during a traffic stop in New London.

He was charged with assault in the first degree, reckless endangerment in the first degree, unlawful discharge of firearms, tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, making a false statement in the second degree, interfering with an officer and stealing a firearm.

He is being held on a $500,000 bond and will be arraigned on Wednesday.
