France Honours Attack Victims As The Nation Mourns

France was the top destination for international tourists last year and Paris welcomes millions of visitors each year, but the events of the last few days will put many vacation plans in doubt.

Travel and tourism companies took a hit when the country’s stock market opened on Monday, showing some industry fears that Paris’ economy will feel a  long-term impact from the attacks.

When it comes to getting to France:  Flights into Paris’ major airports are open. Delays can always happen, but otherwise flights are operating normally. Most airlines have a no change fee right now until Dec. 15 to any existing itineraries.

As for hotels, some chains like Hilton and Hyatt are waiving reservation cancellation fees.

Cultural and tourist sites are back open including the Eiffel Tower. but the aquarium, zoo and Disneyland Paris will remained closed until Wednesday.

When it comes to getting around Paris and France, the city’s subway system is running normally expect for one station that was near the site of two attacks.

Officials are urging travelers it is business as usual and say no one should be discouraged from traveling to Paris or France.  Travel companies said that the French need support now more than ever and want to return to a normal life and leaving or not visiting won’t accomplish that.
