MERIDEN – A man getting a pizza died after being hit by a car on Tuesday.
The accident happened on East Main Street Tuesday night between Broad and High streets.
Jack Coursey, 68, of Meriden died as a result of the accident. Police said Coursey had purchased a pizza from Uptown Pizza and was crossing East Main Street to return to his vehicle when he was struck by a 1997 Honda Accord being driven by Jay Quigley, 35, of Meriden. Quigley was taken to Midstate Hospital for cuts to his face as a result of the windshield breaking.
The accident reconstruction team in Meriden is investigating the crash.
The name of the victim has not been released.
