WETHERSFIELD–The fire marshal’s office is still investigating the cause of a house fire on Brimfield Street in Wethersfield that occurred Wednesday night, but they have released the identity of the man that firefighters rescued.

FOX 61 reported on Wednesday that two firefighters found an elderly man who lived at the in the living room after his wife told them he was inside. He was taken to the hospital with possible smoke inhalation.

The fire department has now identified the victim as Keron Larkin. Larkin has lived in Wethersfield for a long time, and served as a community firefighter with the Wethersfield Volunteer Fire Department for several years, until he left in 1973.

It is not known how severe the injuries Larking suffered are.

The incident went to two alarms due to the amount of flames coming from the home. Mutual aid was called to the scene and to cover other parts of town.
