A gray female pit bull was located in East Windsor in the wooded area off of East Road. The dog was lying on a pink blanket and was unable to walk because of obvious medical issues.
Animal Control responded and rushed the dog to the Enfield Animal Hospital, but her health was in such bad shape that she needed to be humanely euthanized.
The medical issues weren’t due to abuse, and whoever left her put her in a place that she would easily be found right off the road.
Police say that they’re “saddened someone dumped her here as there is always other options if unable to care for your pet such as calling our ACO [animal control officers] and asking for assistance. If they can’t help directly, they will work extremely hard finding someone or an organization that can.” [sic]
Police are trying to find the pit bull’s owner, so if you recognize the pup please call 860-292-8240.
