NORTH SALEM, N.Y. — Officials say divers searching a New York reservoir for a missing small plane have found what appears to be a large piece of the fuselage.
A spokesman for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection says the divers attached a buoy to object at the bottom of the Titicus Reservoir in North Salem on Saturday. They’ll try to bring it to the surface Sunday.
Authorities previously said police had recovered human remains and items believed to be from the plane that lost radar contact Thursday.
A Connecticut man has identified those aboard the missing plane as his father and stepmother. The 1971 Beechcraft Bonanza was headed for Danbury.
