This Thanksgiving FOX 61 ran “All-Star Dog Rescue Celebration.” It’s a one-of-a-kind event celebrating America’s rescue dogs, raising awareness of dog-related issues and encouraging people to adopt rescue animals. Throughout the two-hour family-friendly special, celebrity guests will introduce the audience to adoptable rescue dogs and honor the people who dedicate their lives to caring for animals in need.

The star-studded special  honors select organizations and everyday citizens who are on the frontline of the rescue movement by helping to save, care for and find loving homes for the more than eight million animals that enter shelters each year. Country music icon Emmylou Harris and rescue organizations Fences for Fido, Dogs on Deployment and Wings of Rescue will be honored for their work with rescue dogs. Eugene Bostick and Michael Schoepf also will be honored as ordinary citizens doing extraordinary things to better the lives of rescue animals.
