K9 units comb Colchester for clues to human remains found by hunter

COLCHESTER - State police resumed their investigation Sunday morning, covering a roughly one mile area with detectives and K9 units, after the discovery of human remains in the state forest in Colchester on Saturday just before 3:30 p.m.

They were looking for clues in the state forest in Colchester, specificially in the area of Flat Brook Road, where the remains were found.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is assisting in the investigation by conducting a post-mortem examination to determine cause and manner of death.

The victim has been identified as Jeffrey Ziobron, 60, of Deep River. There is no criminal aspect, police say, and no threat to the community or public.
