Police: Ansonia native’s husband accused of hiring man to kill her in Florida home

FOX4 reports that the documents reveal Mark Sievers hired Jimmy Rodgers to kill his wife so that he could get money from her $4.5 million life insurance policy. The other person charged with her murder is Curtis Wayne Wright.

Dr. Sievers was found dead in her Bonita Springs, Florida home on Monday, June 29, by a friend and fellow doctor after she didn’t show up to work, according to FOX4. She died of blunt force trauma to the back of her head. She was home after returning early from a family vacation with her husband and two daughters.

Dr. Sievers’ sister told FOX4 that one of the men charged with second-degree murder, Wright, is best friends with Mark Sievers, and that the two list each other as brothers on Facebook.

Wright pleaded not guilty on Monday at his arraignment in Lee County, Florida. Rodgers is serving a six-month sentence for probation violation in Missouri, which is where the two men were found and arrested.

Mark Sievers has not yet been charged with his wife’s murder.

Dr. Sievers originally hails from Ansonia, Connecticut.
