Nightclub shooting prompts investigation in Hartford

HARTFORD — An overnight shooting at a downtown Hartford hot spot triggered a police investigation early Saturday.

Hartford Police Department patrol units reported hearing shots fired inside of the NV nightclub at 177 Allyn Street at 1:37am. As more units convened in the area, a second report of shots fired was confirmed by officers at the location.

Raymond Ramos, 32, of East Hartford, was taken to St. Francis Hospital withnon life-threatening injuries from a single gunshot wound to his left side. He is listed in stable condition.

No suspects have been identified at this point.

Major Crimes Division detectives are handling the investigation and encourage any witnesses to come forward with information. All tips can be reported confidentially.
