THOMASTON — A woman was killed in a crash Sunday evening on Route 8.
The accident happened at Exit 40 on Route 8 Northbound around 5:30 p.m.
Police said the driver was traveling in the left lane and veered off onto the shoulder and then slid back into the lane. The car flipped over on its roof and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. Marcella Shaw, 58, of Winsted, pronounced dead on the scene.
