WILLIMANTIC — Police arrested a woman who they say left her baby in the car while she went grocery shopping.
Police charged Tingting Jlang, 25, of Ashford, leaving a child unsupervised in a public place or motor vehicle. Jlang is scheduled to appear in Danielson Superior Court on December 21.
The one-year-old child was left unattended for about a half-hour while Jlang did her grocery shopping at Price Rite in Willimantic according to police.
“The Willimantic Police Department thanks the witness that observed this incident taking place and we encourage people to continue to call the department if they witness things like this in the future,” said Lt. Coriaty of the Willimantic Police.
The Department of Children and Families was notified as well.
