WINDSOR LOCKS -- Hundreds turned out in Windsor Locks Thursday night to weigh in on a proposal to bring a casino to town.

Two locations are under consideration -- Bradley International Airport and across the street at Bobby V's Restaurant.

The town failed to bring the issue to a vote in October, but new members elected in November reopened discussions on the topic.

Windsor Locks is competing against other proposals From East Hartford, East Windsor, and Hartford.

Some residents suggested the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan tribes should make investments in the town -- including road work on Route 75 and to schools and emergency agencies.

“You know it's going to create good jobs, good benefits, good pay we're all for that I'm all for putting Connecticut people back to work.” David Roache, of the Connecticut State Building Trades

“I know it's going to make a lot of traffic, it'll bring in a lot of riffraff, prostitution, we have that already with the airport and all the hotels around here. It's only going to get worse. “ said Robert Shea, of Windsor Locks

The tribes originally planned to announce the location of the new casino yesterday -- but the group said they need more time to make a decision.
