NEW YORK--A Newington girl's dreams came true on Tuesday night in New York City.

In June, FOX 61 reported that Kailey Krusewski, an 8-year-old Newington native, was heartbroken when her favorite hockey player, Rangers star Cam Talbot, announced he was being traded from her favorite team to the Edmonton Oilers. Talbot has a special connection to Connecticut: He played for the Connecticut Whale and Hartford Wolf Pack before joining the Rangers.

She wrote the athlete a letter to tell him how much she'd miss him, and the letter went viral when Talbot retweeted her!

Since the letter was tweeted by Kailey's dad, Josh, on June 28, Talbot has fostered a relationship with the family; he event sent her a signed jersey!

But the real excitement came Tuesday night, when the Oilers played the Rangers at Madison Square Garden. Talbot invited the Krusewskis to the game, and boy did Kailey get to enjoy it!

First, she was acknowledged by Talbot during team warm-ups before the game, and she got to ride the Zamboni! After the game Kailey got to go "backstage" to hang out with Talbot, and she was given his stick, which he signed, a puck, and a Rangers gift bag.

Josh spoke to FOX 61 about the experience, and he said, "Cam--and all those he is associated with--have been since June a class act. It was an unbelievable experience!"
