ELLINGTON - State Police continue to investigate after a deceased woman was discovered in an Ellington home Thursday.
Troopers initially responded to the residence for an active burglary alarm on Birchview Drive just after 10 a.m. Troopers also received a 911 call, according to Lt. Michael J. Thomas.
Upon arrival, police located the body of a deceased female, as well as a male victim with minor injuries. The deceased victim was identified as Connie Dabate, 39, of Ellington. The second individual, Richard Dabate, 39, was also discovered and transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment. Police also indicated areas of smoke present in the residence during the initial response.
K9 teams conducted a search of the area. Detectives from the State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit were also called to the scene to assist in the investigation.
Troopers and detectives remained at the home through Wednesday and overnight into Thursday morning. They are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the suspicious death, which are unknown at this time.
Troopers say at no time during this incident was there any threat to the public or community.
