Wallingford woman arrested for DUI, possession of drugs after crashing into fire truck

WALLINGFORD–A woman was arrested early Wednesday morning after she crashed into a fire truck while allegedly driving drunk.

Police say that at 2:16 a.m. a woman crashed her car into the Wallingford Fire Department Truck near the corner of North Turnpike Road and Columbia Street. Firefighters had to force their way into her car and turn off the engine.

No one was hurt.

Emily Struzik, 33, of Wallingford, who was driving, was arrested and charged with DUI, driving without insurance, failure to drive a reasonable distance from an emergency vehicle, possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $500 bond.
