ANSONIA - The power company is reporting that 25 homes are without power after a house fire in Ansonia on Friday afternoon, due the close proximityof the fire to power equipment and lines.

Fire officials said the fire started on the top floor of the house at 55 Burke St. just before 1 p.m.

There were no injuries but significant damage to the wood frame structure due to smoke, fire and water.

The roof and exterior of the home were badly damaged, but there is no word if the home is uninhabitable.

The Ansonia Fire Department responded, with mutual aid from Derby.

The Fire Marshal is on scene investigating cause.

The Red Cross volunteered assistance but the victims, who are all from the same family, declined.
