HARTFORD — A woman receiving DCF care was hospitalized after she was stabbed twice in the back on Saturday.

Police officers were dispatched to 9 Dorothy Street on reports of a stabbing at approximately 9:30pm.

Upon arrival, a female was located in the front yard of the property bleeding from two puncture wounds in her back. She was unable to interview with detectives due to medical reasons, so she did not elaborate on who was responsible or provide information that would help construct a time line of events.

The victim was brought by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital where she was listed in stable condition.

Canvassing officers scoured the Dorothy Street area for suspects, witnesses and potential weapons, although none were located.

Representatives with the Department of Children and Families were notified after police learned she had been placed in their care.
