U-Haul from Yale frat accident

HARTFORD — A Yale University fraternity and more than 80 of its members have settled lawsuits over a rental truck accident that killed a woman and injured another during tailgating celebrations at the Yale-Harvard football game in 2011.

Lawyer Ralph Sbrogna tells The Associated Press the settlements end all litigation related to the accident. He said Friday the last settlements were reached in November with Sigma Phi Epsilon and its members, but formal court documents have yet to be filed.

Sbrogna represents relatives of Nancy Barry, a Salem, Massachusetts, woman who died after being struck outside the Yale Bowl by a U-Haul truck rented by the fraternity.

Terms of all the settlements were confidential. Yale and other defendants previously settled the lawsuits.

The fraternity’s attorney didn’t immediately return a message.
