On Friday around 10:30 a.m. William Frascatore, 36, of Quaker Ridge Road in Shelton, called 911 to report someone had just broken into his home.

Frascatore told police who responded that two men entered his home through an open door and surprised him in his bedroom, and then they tied him up. He said they stole jewelry and a cell phone, and that he saw them drive off in a silver Honda Accord with a loud muffler.

While investigating, police found a marijuana grow operation in Frascatore’s basement, and they seized plants, dried marijuana and growing equipment.

Frascatore was charge with cultivation of marijuana, operating a drug factory, possession of marijuana more than 4 ounces, possession with intent to sell, use of drug paraphernalia and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Police are still investigating the home invasion and searching for the suspects. If you have any information please call Shelton police at 203-924-1544.

Earlier in the week a similar situation occurred in Southington. A victim of a home invasion was arrested for growing marijuana in his basement.
