HARTFORD — A pair of suspects burglarized a Hartford city school and stole 35 laptop computers on Sunday.

Hartford Police Department patrol officers were dispatched to the Weaver High School Culinary Arts Academy just before 8:30 a.m. for a burglary complaint. Responding units discovered 35 Macbook air laptops had been forcibly removed from their charging cables and subsequently stolen from the premises.

Surveillance video showed two men with a pair of bolt cutters forcing open the southern entrance of the school. From there, they broke in to the principal’s office by destroying an internal window and ceiling tiles.

In an adjoining area, the suspects used the bolt cutters to dismantle security locks attached to the computers in order to steal them.

Once they had all the devices, the two individuals fled down a hallways and out through the gymnasium. They were last seen running west through the parking lot and away from the area.

Police on scene set up a perimeter, surrounding the school with K9 units, however they were not able to locate the suspects.

Crime Scene Division and Central Burglary detectives were notified and have started to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call the Hartford Police Department at (860) 757-4355.
