NEW HAVEN — A Connecticut pharmaceutical company is preparing to relocate to its new headquarters in New Haven.

The New Haven Register reports Alexion Pharmaceuticals’ 200 employees on Tuesday will begin working from new offices in a 10-story complex on College Street.

The company announced in 2012 that it would be relocating from Cheshire. It committed to taking more than 300,000 square feet in the new College Street complex.

The company was founded in 1992 and based in New Haven until 1997, when it moved to Cheshire.

The bio-pharmaceutical company focuses on developing drugs to treat people who have rare diseases.
