Gunpoint robbery suspect caught on video in Stamford

STAMFORD — A suspect was captured on surveillance video during a robbery at gunpoint last Thursday.

Police were alerted to an incident that occurred just after 10pm at the Subway sandwich shop on Shippan Avenue. A suspect entered the establishment and brandished a handgun before demanding the clerk hand over the cash register.

The man in question took particular care in concealing his identity by wearing a black mask, gloves and a long jacket. He made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, and was last seen wearing a backpack and riding a bicycle away from the scene.

The store employee was not injured in the confrontation.
