HARTFORD — Police are searching for five suspects who beat and carjacked a man Saturday afternoon.

At approximately 3:15pm, Hartford patrol officers arrived to the corner of Hillside Avenue and Hamilton Street in response to 911 calls reporting a stolen vehicle.

According to police, a male victim was driving a white Ford F150 pick-up truck when he came to a rest at the Hillside Avenue red light. Suddenly, five male individuals approached on foot and surrounded his vehicle. They then opened the vehicle’s door and forced him out of the vehicle, using their fists to strike him numerous times.

The suspects entered the vehicle and drove away from the scene, leaving the man beaten in the street. They were last seen driving west on Hamilton Street.

EMS respondents aided the victim at the scene, treating him for minor injuries.

Police set up a perimeter with K9 units, but were unable to produce any leads. Currently, there are no suspects or known witnesses to the incident.
