Pedestrian critically injured in Vernon crash

VERNON–A pedestrian was critically injured after a crash Tuesday evening.

Around 6:30 p.m. emergency personnel responded to Reservoir Road, also known as Route 31, near Sunrise Drive. They found Richard Kirk, 42, of Vernon, who was unresponsive and had serious injuries after being hit by a car driven by Paul Palmer, 38 of Manchester,

Kirk was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

Palmer stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
