HARTFORD–Forbes took a look at the 50 biggest cities in America to find the richest person in each city.

Coming in first place was Bill Gates, the wealthiest man in the world. He lives in Seattle, and has a net worth of $77.2 billion.

The poorest rich person on the list? Hartford’s own Mark Bertolini, whose fortune amounts to $180 million. Only 10 cities out of the 50 had entries below $1 billion.

Forbes said in its analysis that Hartford was actually the hardest city to find the wealthiest person in. At first, they thought it was Bill Stone, the billionaire founder of SS&C, but he moved to Florida. Next the researchers thought it was former UTC CEO, Louis Chenevert, then former Aetna CEO Ronald Williams, but both of them have moved away as well.

They finally came upon Bertolini, Aetna’s current CEO and chairman.

The 50 members on the list have a combined net worth of $522 billion, and the median fortune is $3.7 billion.

A “city” was defined as the metropolitan statistical area. Hartford–which is combined of all of Greater Hartford, including West Hartford, Simsbury and Avon–ranks 47th on that list, according to 2014 Census Bureau data.
