Bloomfield singled out for improvements in high school graduation rates

BLOOMFIELD - The achievements of one high school were singled out by the Governor and education leaders Monday.

They cited Bloomfield High School Monday for its big improvements, especially in its graduation rate.

Governor Malloy and the education commissioner visited the school Monday saying it exemplifies how the state is investing more in struggling districts and seeing results.

Bloomfield students agree, they say their high school is making the grade with.the graduation rate in Bloomfield going from 74 percent in 2011 to 90 percent in 2014.

Statewide, the graduation rate has increased more than five percent since 2011 and is now higher than the national average of 82 percent.
