NEW BRITAIN – Manhole covers were blown off street Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of West Main Street and Lincoln Avenue.
The explosion happened just before 2 p.m
There were no injuries reported but the intersection was closed and police and fire personnel were on scene, as were public utility crews.
No specific cause is known at this time but wire conduits under the street were having issues that led to the explosions.
