BOSTON — The National Women’s Hockey League player who was critically injured during the NHL Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium, sent a video message to the TD Garden crowd Thursday night before the Boston Bruins took on the Vancouver Canucks.
Denna Laing, 24, thanked Bruins’ fans for their support, and especially Bruins captain Zdeno Chara, who paid Laing a visit in the hospital this week.
Her sisters then took center ice for the ceremonial puck drop with Chara and Canucks captain Daniel Sedin.
Fans also received a poster featuring Laing.
The social media show of support isn’t limited to just the Bruins.
