HARTFORD — Police didn’t have to walk far from the scene early Friday to find a suspect in a shoe theft.

According to police, a woman stepped out of her apartment at 530 Wethersfield Ave. to walk her dog and reported numerous pairs of shoes missing on her return. She told police she suspected her neighbor in the theft.

When police talked to the suspect, Justin Dube, 26, he admitted to stealing the shoes. He was also seen on video exiting the building with the items, according to police.

Dube was charged with burglary and larceny.
