WILLINGTON – A car rolled over into a pond on Daleville Road in Willington Saturday just after 7:30 p.m.
Firefighters and EMS personnel extracted a person with serious injuries from the submerged vehicle, who was taken to Rockville General Hospital. That person has been identified as Thomas Middleton, 52, of Hartford. He later succumbed to his injuries.
The car’s driver, Joseph Young, 40, of Wallingford, was found on the street and was taken to Rockville General Hospital for evaluation with non-life threatening injuries.
The fire department conducted a secondary search of the vehicle to ensure there were no other occupants.
The passenger has not been identified.
