EAST HARTFORD — The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is holding a public meeting on migratory bird hunting regulations.
DEEP is alerting the public a couple of months in advance of the April 1 meeting because past meetings were held in late July or early August.
The meeting was scheduled for earlier in the year because the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently streamlined the process for setting annual migratory game bird hunting seasons and bag limits.
The meeting is an opportunity for the public to comment on proposed hunting season regulations for the 2016-17 migratory bird seasons. The final hunting season dates will be set after DEEP reviews the public comments.
The meeting will be held at Cabela’s in East Hartford.
