HARTFORD - Veteran Connecticut journalist David Drury authored a history of the capital city's role in The Great War. World War I pitted Allied forces, including America and Great Britain, against Central Power forces, including Germany and Austria-Hungary. From 1914-1918 there were millions of war casualties, yet the ending of a bloody WWI spawned the beginning of WWII only years later.
