BRISTOL – Three weeks after she was found dead in her Bristol home, Maureen Gaski’s family is still looking for answers.

Bristol Police say the 79-year-old was found unresponsive at her home by a family member on January 8, and died later that night at Bristol Hospital. Police confirm she was found in the hallway with visible injuries and there was blood on the scene.

Police say they’re investigating this case as an untimely death.

Gaski, a lifelong Bristol resident, had 6 children, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a health aide at Northeast School for 20 years.

On Saturday evening, family and friends gathered together at her home on Sheffield Lane to remember happy memories.

“She was a great woman. She was full of love,” said Dante Woods, the oldest of her 11 great-grandchildren.

“I’m a theater major and she came to all of my events. I had about six musicals and plays in high school and she came to all of them. She came to my first one in college. She’s always been there,” he said.

Together they lit candles arranged to surround framed photos from throughout Gaski’s life.

Woods said, “This situation made us all come together. We’ve all spent a lot of time together the last two weeks.”

Family members said they’re trying to be patient during the investigation into Gaski’s death. They say they trust Bristol Police are doing all they can to solve the case quickly.

Bristol Police say the investigation remains open and active.
